As you prepare your property to have new asphalt installed, there will probably be a lot of things on your mind. If you want one very heavy load taken off, take some time to speak with your contractor to get all of your questions answered. The following are three questions to be sure you ask your asphalt contractor.
1. What Kind of Experience Do You Have?
The amount of experience your asphalt contractor has could say wonders about his or her qualifications. Find out how many years the contractor has been installing asphalt. Find out if they have ever dealt with the specific issues that come with your parking lot. Have they completed any unique jobs? If any previous jobs caused some unique complications, what kind of experience did the contractor have to handle it?
2. Are You Licensed and Insured?
You want to know that your asphalt contractor has the proper qualifications to get the job done right. If something does go wrong, you’ll want to rest assured the contractor has proper insurance coverage so you’re not left footing the bill for something that wasn’t your fault. Being properly licensed and insured also shows the company is legitimate.
3. What Will I Pay for the Project?
It’s important you know the cost of the job upfront so you’re not surprised with the bill. If the contractor gives you an estimate, rather than a quote, it’s a best guess for how much you can plan to pay for the job. It could be less or more. If the contractor gives you a quote, you can most likely plan to pay that amount.
